With the trying days of the pandemic, many are challenged raising their children. For parents, juggling work and discipline of children in the home is no mean feat. Teachers embrace digital learning, but are constantly mindful that engagement of children through the screen can be trying with children’s attention constantly diverted. For preschool teachers, the constant vigilance in protecting their wards’ physical health can be stressful, not to mention protecting their hearts and nurturing their souls.

As preschool teachers know only too well, raising children in the ways of the Lord is an uphill battle. Part of this has to do with the worldliness that creeps insidiously into the lives of the children – the self-centredness and entitlement mindset, the desire to compete rather than collaborate in the competitive school system, and the very human tendency to turn away from the Lord when it is inconvenient.

But the hope in the Lord is ever present.  Key to this would be prayers and support for teachers as they dedicate their lives to the ministry of teaching little ones in preschools. Teachers are truly the unsung heroes who wave the flag of Christ amongst our little children and help bring their faith to life, allowing them to shine like a light to the people around them.
