To help parents, here’s a short overview of the types of preschools & the levels with a general age indication. Note that definitions & terminologies might defer slightly for some preschools for the age groups.
Types of Preschools:
IC Infant Care (2 to 18 months)
CC Childcare (18 months to 6 years old)
KG Kindergarten (18 months to 6 years old)
Preschools which are Childcare Centres in nature operates on Saturdays besides the usual weekdays, as well as during the school holidays. Generally, preschools that are Kindergartens in nature follow the school holidays calendar and hence are closed during school holidays.
Levels:
PG Playgroup (18 months to 2 years old)
PN Pre-Nursery (3 years old)
N Nursery (4 years old)
K1 Kindergarten 1 (5 years old)
K2 Kindergarten 2 (6 years old)
